What to Wear

There is no dress code for concerts. Formal attire is not required. We recommend comfortable attire, appropriate for the weather. We also recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater if you get chilly. We do not provide coat check at our venues, nor do we provide cough drops. Please come prepared with what you may need.

Directions and Parking

Directions can be found for each performance at greatlakeschambermusic.org/performances. Most of our venues have free on-site parking.

When to Arrive

Both the Festival seating area and the Help Desk will open on-site 30 minutes prior to the start of each performance. All seats are reserved. Bring a printout of your ticket or view the tickets on your smartphone. We will use touchless scanning of tickets at the entrance to the venue. Please visit our website at greatlakeschambermusic.org/performances to check if there are any last-minute schedule changes.

Ticket Donation/Unused Tickets

Patrons may request unused tickets to be used as a donation to the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival. Donation requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the performance.

Start Time & Late Comers

The Festival makes every effort to start performances at the published start time. Latecomers will be asked to wait in the lobby and will be seated by ushers at a predetermined time in the program. The late seating break is determined by artists and will generally occur during a suitable break in the program.

Accessibility

All of our venues are able to accommodate patrons with limited mobility and wheelchairs. If you require special seating due to accessibility, please call the Festival office at 248-559-2097 so that our staff and ushers can be prepared.

Applause

Traditionally, applause is held until the end of the piece of music. Composers create a work as a whole, which is often made up of several movements. It is best to not disrupt the music by applauding between movements.
