Emerson String Quartet

As we near the completion of the Beethoven String Quartet Cycle, the Emerson String Quartet performs two of Beethoven’s final quartets: the composer’s Op. 132 and Große Fuge, Op. 133, the latter of which has been referred to by analysts as “inaccessible,” “eccentric,” “filled with paradoxes” and “Armageddon” due to its wildly unorthodox structure and incredible difficulty.
