Emerson String Quartet, Ivalas Quartet

The Emerson String Quartet’s performance of the Beethoven String Quartet Cycle comes to a close with a performance of the composer’s Op. 131, his favorite of the late quartets; Op. 135, the last major work Beethoven completed; and the alternative last movement of Op. 130, which was written to replace the controversial Grosse Fuge.
